Changing Under Contruction Options for Domain Pointers
Domain Pointers (additional domain names for your website) have separate options for placing them "Under Construction". This allows you to turn each of your domain names on/off individually. Please see the following steps for changing the "under construction" options for your domain pointers and primary domain name.
To display (or remove) the "Under Construction" message for your domain pointers, just follow these simple steps:
- Log into your Intranet Management area
- Click on "Domain Tools" under Tools on your intranet menu bar
- Select the "View My Domain Names" option
- Click on the domain name for which you want to change the "under construction" option
- Uncheck the "Available to Public (online)" option to display the "Under Construction" message to website visitors for this domain name (or check the option to make your website accessible to the public again)
- Click the "Update Settings" button to save your changes.
To display (or remove) the "Under Construction" message for your primary (main) domain name, just follow these simple steps:
- Log into your Intranet Management area
- Click on "Preferences and Security" under Tools on your intranet menu bar
- Select the Public Website Preferences" option
- Uncheck the "My Website is Available to the Public (online)" option to display the "Under Construction" message to website visitors (or check the option to make your website accessible to the public again)
- Click the "Update Information" button to save your changes.
Viewing Your Website while "Under Construction"
Even though the public will not be able to view your site while this option is checked, you can still view your website as if were still available to the public by clicking on the "View My Website" icon (magnifying glass) at the top right of your Intranet Management Screen next to the "Logout" icon (red X). In this way, you can check out your edits prior to publishing your site online for public viewing.
