How to add language translation to your website
Alta Vista provides free translation scripts that you can use to allow your website vistors to automatically translate your website into several languages. Machine translation allows real-time (on-the-fly) translation of information into French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Italian, and Portuguese. Please note that machine translation is not perfect and may occasionally create some poor translations.
You can plug these scripts into your website very easily by following the steps below:
- Determine the location you'd like to display the translation script. Common areas to display the script are: Below the website navigation menu (displays on every page), website footer (displays on every page), or on the website home page.
- Go to the design settings page for the location you want to display the translation script. For example, if you want to display the script under your website menu, choose "Edit Website Design & Links" on the Content & Design menu and select the option for "Menu Settings" or select "Footer Design" if you want to display the script in the footer area.
- Scroll down to the "Advanced Settings" section and locate the "Include HTML Block" field.
- Paste the following script code exactly as shown below into the "Include HTML Block" field.
<script language="JavaScript1.2" src="http://www.altavista.com/static/scripts/translate_engl.js"></script>
- Click the Update Settings button to save your changes.
Translation languages supported are:

- German
- Japanese
