Managing Property Listings, Managing Your Guestbook, Managing News

This tutorial covers a variety of topics regarding how to manage different built-in features of your website. Be sure you are logged into your website intranet and let's get started!

Managing your Property Listings
Managing your Property Listings is very simple using the Property Listing Management tools built into your website intranet. All of your property listings are not only displayed on YOUR website, but they are also displayed in the National Property Listings available at http://www.imlsonline.com and http://www.totalrealestatesolutions.com - and everywhere that the National Listings are displayed. To add a new property listing follow the simple steps below:

Add Property Listings
  1. Select "Property Listings" from the Real Estate menu to display the Coaching page.
  2. Click on "Add New Property Listing" to display the Add Property Listing page.
  3. Enter your property listing information in the Property Listing Section
  4. If you have previously uploaded Property Images using the Image Upload Tools (covered in Day 4), you will see those property images appearing in the drop down menus in the Property Photos section. If you have NOT uploaded property images yet, click on the "Upload Property Photos Now" button to upload your photos. If you do not have any images you would like to upload, you can skip this section.
  5. Complete the Property Features section
  6. Click the "Add Property Listing" button at the bottom of the screen to Save your Property Listing.

Edit Property Listings
  1. Select "Property Listings" from the Real Estate menu to display the Coaching page.
  2. Click on "Current Property Listings" to display the existing property listings.
  3. Click on the Title for the Property Listing you want to edit.
  4. Edit your property listing information and click the "Update Property Listing" button at the bottom of the screen to Save your Property Listing.

Changing the Display Order of your Property
You can change the order in which your property listings are displayed on your website by clicking the up/down arrows or selecting a new order number from the drop down order selection to the left of the Listing Title. The order in which the listings are displayed on this screen are the order which they will be displayed on your website. If you wish to temporarily hide a property listing, you can uncheck the Display option next to the property you want to hide. The property listing will move down to the "Property Listings NOT Displayed" section. To turn the display back on, just check the Display option next to the property listing.


Other Property Options
You can display a popup "showcase" of property listings on your website either on entrance to your homepage or when your visitor clicks to view property listings. Your property showcase popup window will be displayed only once to your website visitors per visit to your website. To turn on your property showcase:

  1. Select "Property Listings" from the Real Estate menu to display the Coaching page.
  2. Click on "Property Showcase" to display the showcase options page.
  3. Check the "Display Showcase" options and select the location option you would like for your showcase display
  4. Select three property listings for rotation in the showcase. If you do not have three property listings, you can select the same property listing three times, otherwise the showcase will rotate each selected listing.
  5. Select optional Color choices for your showcase.
  6. Click "Update and Preview" to view your showcase selection.

Many other options are available for your property listings. To display the additonal property options screen, select "Property Listings" from the Real Estate menu to display the Coaching page, then click on "Property Options" to display the options page. These options will be covered in an later "In-Depth" tutorial about Managing Your Property Listings.

Managing Your Guestbook
Your guestbook is a tool that allows your website visitors to leave a message for you. This is different than an email link since the guestbook entries can be published on your website for other visitors to view. Publishing the email addresses of visitors who sign your guestbook is optional. Guestbook management allows you to specify which messages are displayed on your public website, whether the email addresses are published, choose whether to automatically publish new messages, etc.

To Manage Your Guestbook
  1. Select "My Guestbook" from the Content Menu to display the Coaching page.
  2. Click on "Guestbook Entries" to display the Guestbook Entries Management screen.
  3. Turn the display on/off for any guestbook entry by checking or unchecking the display option on the guestbook message list

Managing Your News
You can publish your own announcements or "hot news" on your website using the "Hot News" management tools. To add an announcement to the Hot News page:

  1. Select "Hot News" from the Content Menu to display the Coaching page.
  2. Click on "Add New Topic" to display the Add Hot News Topic page.
  3. Enter your information on the Add Topic and click the "Add Topic" button to save your announcement.
