Uploading Images, Adding Images to your Pages

Adding images to your website pages adds visual impact to your message and can capture the attention of your website visitor. You can easily upload and add images to your website pages using our image tools. Please be sure that you are logged into your website intranet before beginning this tutorial. Let's get started!

About Image Formats
To ensure your images can be viewed on all browsers, be sure to use a standard web image format (for example: .GIF, .JPG). The image upload tools will not allow you to upload non-standard image types!

About Image Sizes
Image size is very important when you are working on your website. Image size doesn't just mean the image dimensions, but also the amount of time it takes to download the image. When your website visitors request a page from your website, the page and all of the images contained on the page must be downloaded to the visitors browser in order for them to see it.

The maximum image size (dimensions) allowed for uploading to your website is 640 pixels wide and 480 pixels high. Our Image Upload tools will automatically resize your image if it is larger than 640x480. The Image Upload tools will also automatically create thumbnail (smaller size) images for you that will be automatically used where appropriate for increasing the speed of your website. If you are using a digital camera for your images, the settings on your camera can make a vast difference in the download size of your images. The optimal setting for images that will be uploaded and used on your website is 72dpi resolution.
