I'm having problems copying content from Word

Microsoft Word and other word processing programs generate a lot of hidden "behind the scenes" code used for formatting your document. When you copy and paste from these programs, this hidden code is transferred to your page and will add to the character count (even though you don't see those characters).

The character limit on your website pages is 48,000 characters. If you are exceeding this limit when you copy and paste your text from Word, you can try one of these options.

Copy your text from Word and then Click the "Paste from Word" button on your website page editor toolbar to paste your text. This button will strip out a lot of of the unnecessary hidden code created by Word.

If you are still having problems, you can try this method. Copy the text out of Word and paste it into WordPad or another simple text editor. Copy your text again from WordPad and then Paste it directly into your website page editor. We have found this method will sometimes strip out more hidden code than the button on the toolbar.

You can then proceed with any additional desired formatting from your website page editor.

Important Note! You cannot copy and paste images from Word into your website pages! YOU may be able to see the images on your website page, but your website visitors will not be able to see the images. Be sure to use the image upload tools provided in your website intranet to display images on your website pages.
